Prodrive Racing (Australia)’s Garry Jacobson has won his second Dunlop Series race after starting from the front row of the grid at Phillip Island. Jacobson lead from the get go, but a mid-race safety car took away his early 3-second lead. Jacobson extended his championship lead after winning race three at Phillip Island. Jacobson was beaten off the start line from pole position in race one, staying in second for the duration of the race. A slow start saw him fall into second in race three before moving past James Golding at the end of lap one to lead the rest of the race.

“So far this year my race starts have been pretty good so once I got a good start and some clean air I just put my head down and put down some good laps. Unfortunately the safety car brought the whole field back which was a bit of a downer but I just sort of kept my tyre temp up and my brake temp up and once I saw the green flag just kept the same process going. A really big thanks to Prodrive Racing for giving me such a great car to drive. To end this weekend with another race win is great. The guys at Prodrive Racing have done such a great job to put such a fantastic car together. It really suits my strengths so it’s great to extend that lead again. Race 2 didn’t quite go to plan off the line but I managed to hold onto second and that gave me the ability to get into first in race three. The car has pace, it’s been really good all weekend so I’m looking forward to heading to Perth now and thankfully it’s not too far away.”
